DOG OF THE MONTH
Sponsored by Kim and Tom Goldsmith
For the love of all Greys
dexey
Dexey is a gorgeous girl with a big playful, fun personality and loves all the attention she gets from visitors in the kennel. She’s a nibbler and will nibble at your knuckles/fingers and grab at your clothing to keep you with her. She has a nosey side so is always on and off her bed to see what is going on. When she’s not being nosey, she is taking her rest seriously usually behind a mountain of bedding.
Much to Dexey’s dismay she is on restricted exercise due to an old injury. The cold weather since her arrival hasn’t helped either as the weather causes her to be stiff in the leg after rest and exercise. Roll on the summer where it will be warmer on her joints. Dexey will need a home with a smaller garden or a sectioned off area in a larger garden.
She’s a lovely friendly girl with a brilliant character.
If you can offer Dexey a home to please email us at harvel@greyhoundtrust.org.uk or phone the kennels on 01474 815273

OUR KENNELHAND'S CHOICE OF THE MONTH
Every month one of our kennelhands chooses a greyhound that they feel is most deserving of a new home. This month's choice was made by kennelhand Cora.

biddy
Under her seemingly petrified persona is our own little Mistress of Mischief and Mayhem. Biddy can be a little bit of a contradiction. With the staff she is playful, cheeky and demanding. Chanting ‘Biddy, Biddy, Biddy’ at her will always set her in a playful mood. Biddy will be a ball of fun once she gets over her silly shy side with new people. As an older girl of the kennel (5 years old) with a slightly greying face, Biddy definitely isn’t one to act her age. She loves nothing more than a zoomie and playing games with staff.
She can be a bit reluctant to go on walks with new people. However, she can be encouraged to go out with our dog walkers but she's always a bit unsure on the way out and is eager to get back to bed when she returns to kennels. Biddy can be strong on the lead some days, other days she is calm to walk. You never know what you’re going to get with her but with a little bit of lead training, she would become a gentle wanderer.
Biddy would best suit an adult only home as noisy toys/children could be quite unsettling for her. She could potentially live with a greyhound male given that she has plenty of space to move away from another dog. She will take time to get used to a new family and routine but she’s a girl worth taking a chance on.
